under the sea

Yesterday I finally had some time (aka motivation) to put the last of the books away and go through the very last moving boxes. I came across this book from my childhood; have you read it?

By L Frank Baum, author of The Oz Books. Illustrated by JNO R Neill.

It's about a little girl, Trot, and her Uncle, Cap'n Bill. They head out to sea on a fishing adventure.

Pretty creepy, really.

When a storm crashes in they find themselves tossed overboard and under the sea where an exhilarating array of mermaid adventures await them.

I wouldn't mind having either of these as tattoos, so simple but really lovely:

I also found these rose petals pressed between the pages. They are from my great grandpa's rose garden, 11 years ago.
