fall falls

A couple of days ago I was FINALLY able to go out and take my new trail shoes where they are meant to be: A TRAIL! I bought them for the Grand Canyon but as you know, that didn't work out (it is still raining and flooding there, so I don't feel too bad about it). These shoes are SERIOUS:

Look at that tread. I've seen trail shoes that have all kinds of nubbins and nooks and crannies but nothing that has FANGS like these do. When I was trying them on in the store some other trail shoe perusers wanted to know, WHAT is THAT! Anyways.

Janiners and I had a delicious breakfast at Tasty's and then decided we needed a hike to help burn off our delicious steak and eggs and yams and polenta and sausage ragu. YUM. We headed out to the Gorge; we've both hiked Multnomah too many times so we decided we'd better do something different. Wahkeena Falls was the winner! I took a lot of pictures there. I'm getting used to my little point and shoot, but my Nikon should be happy again real soon!

 I wanted to roll down this ferny hill! But I didn't. It was too wet.
