This lil pal is a gem of a woman. I met her two Novembers ago at the fry cart turkey fry- we each clamped our teeth down on the same piece of meat, growled, and devoured it like wild animals. Then we exchanged numbers. It was the beginning of a wonderful snuggle saga. Lisa is a precious babin and one of the pallest people I know- sadly I see her 98% less than I would like to. She is always full of sweetness and fun things to say and I have rarely seen her in a foul mood- she is all smiles and giggles and sunshine and puts that in YOUR life as well. She also writes poems. Ghosty haunting poems that remind me of places I have never been and things I have never seen or felt- she really does special things with the words she chooses. She was one of the first friends I met in Portland outside of my usual friend group and I carry a torch that burns 12 stories tall for her.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE: A HOT CUP OF TEA OR A BAG FULL OF CANDY? WHY? 

Whenever I have a bag of candy in the house it often languishes in a cabinet until someone else eats it, but whenever I have a tin of tea I drink it like crazy, so I'm going to say I like the tea more. Teas are also full of more magic than candy -- want to warm up? cool down? wake up? go to sleep? lose weight? soothe a sore throat? get over yr cold? Then tea's yr man. I'd like to see candy try all that.

SOME REALLY GREAT ADVICE YOU'VE RECEIVED AND LOVED LATELY?

Today my tea advised me to let my light become a living universal light. I loved that tea was trying to cozy up & be my pal.

This Diana F+ Parisian Camera made my heart skip a beat when I saw it. Also it's that time of year where pretty much every magazine is full of ideas for holiday magic, so pretty much anything I've seen in Gifted, Sweet Paul, Real Simple or Lonny Magazine has put stars in my eyes & inspired me to get it together early this holiday.

PLEASE DESCRIBE ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE SOUNDS. 

I love the sound of train whistles. I love sitting in bed at night & hearing the whistle's forlorn warning sound & thinking about the reality of sitting in a warm bed reading a book & drinking a tea & also the possibility of being out there, moving along all night through different cities, watching the street & car lights go by. It's comforting & exhilarating at the same time. Nearly every house I've ever rented has been near enough to train tracks that I can hear the whistle blowing at night, so it's become a sound that means home.

YOU CAN BE UNICORN OR A DRAGON. WHICH ONE & WHY? 

Dragon, for sure. Just think how fast you could heat up water at tea parties. Also don't they usually have caves filled with treasure?
