A note I haven't been able to bring myself to spend (though they're not really rare, I know!), and a double watch from my Grandma! It needs a new battery and then I'll have to decide which time the second face should read.

teeth & fur
My favorite ring, from my favorite store, which is in the process of closing down- Global Exchange! :( That means come early June, I'll be freed up for all kinds of other things I want to fill my hours with: mojitos, mimosas, margaritas- warm summer sunshine and actual real WEEKENDS!
This is Moldavite. It will become extinct. You should read about it.
I opened the top of my jewelry box for the first time in a long time and took stock of some favorites. I love rediscovering things! Heart these little treasures.
A river stone pendant
A silver spoon pin
Great Gma's gold plated leaf pendant
Porcelain brooches stamped with bugz

And inside
Hilltribe silver
Hand painted in Russia
Great Gma's ivory roses
baby teeth .... ew? w/e get ova it!
Pearls & turquoise, gold & silver
Dear spring,

vintage crimes
I don't remember how I stumbled across these, but they are stunning. I could spend hours browsing this archive, National Library of Australia's 'Picture Australia.' A search for 'mug shots' reveals a magnitude of faces & their crimes. Here are some of my favorites!

magic crystal
My gma gave me this necklace. The other day I couldn't get over the way it was sparkling in the sun! So pretty.

digging up a lil history
I finally remember (/found) a flash drive I have with about 8G of photos on it... whew! I knew I had these pictures around somewhere and I'm so glad we've been reunited. It's fun/hilarious to revisit these things.
There's a continuous blast-from-my-past feed over (updated ~ once daily) at my tumblr. Don't judge me!

a million minutes of movies
I LOVE watching movies! And more specifically, movies in a theater. AND EVEN MORE SPECIFICALLY, movies in a CHEAP theater, where seats are 2 or 3 or 5 dollars, depending on which time or day you go. I probably see a movie in a theater two or three times a week. It's like a routine, but one that never gets boring! That's the best kind of routine, don't ya think? Here's a list of the 5 movies I've seen most recently.
1. How Do You Know
starring Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson
This was a movie full of giggles. It was bad. Not REALLY bad, but kinda bad, though Mr. Rudd is a dreamboat which totally excuses that fact. Reese is cute too, gimme her legs please? I had a hard time relating to these characters, the whole thing was just hella cheesy. But I'll basically see anything, anytime, anywhere- so I was entertained.
2. La Nana (The Maid)
starring Catalina Saavedra
This movie was terribly awkward. The Maid, ever stubborn and territorial, tries to hold her place when the family she works for hires someone to help her... then another... then another, all except one of which she drives away by being a real bitch. It gave me dark feelings and I was convinced someone was going to be killed at any second. I liked it.
3. Groundhog Day
starring Bill Murray
A classic. What more is there to say? I never figured out why he just doesn't stay up all night. Don't you think something would have happened?
4. Burlesque
starring Christina Aguilera and CHER
This was one of the few movies I saw at a regularly priced showing- then again at Kennedy School. I can't get enough of the dancing! I wish they would have talked less and danced more. I want to go to a Burlesque show in Portland now. So sexy!
5. Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work
starring... Joan Rivers. Duh.
Apparently this was considered a documentary. I call it a testament to this woman's crazy. But it's the good kind of crazy, right?
What have you seen lately?

kayakin around
After a year of this kayak gettin dusty in Josh's basement, we finally took her out for her maiden voyage. We went to a little spot on the river in St. John's and set her down in water that was totally disgusting and looked filled with poo. Josh managed to keep himself a float and there were no holes to be found. Can't wait to take this out for summer adventures! Yes, we strapped it to the car on a yoga mat. Hooray!
Success! Oh yeah, did I mention he built this? Yeah, he built it. Sucha badass.
