cooking up a yummer

Has anyone noticed the weather is start to turn faaareeezing? It is so cozy. Friday night the streets were layered in fog- holy shet y’all, it is descending. There is something totally magic about this time of year. I want my friends. I want them real close and cozy with warm alcoholic things to drink and giggles and loving each other and planning things. So many pals up in my life. I am so lucky! It is so easy for me to start hibernating when its like this though. I have been so wound up, happy and excited about things I’ve been working on that on my days off I’ve spent a lot of time sitting around thinking + pewping things out my brain + running errands instead of… whatever other things I was doing? It’s almost winter y’all. I can’t help but want to sit at home where its cozy and plan plan plan and make make make.

I’ve also recently made some real things in real life with some real people, not least of which was last month’s EGGPLANT PARMESAN. Are you kidding? This meal was deeeelish, Tara made some aioli that I would gladly give my life for. Jess was here too, and dear dear Aubrey- a whole lot of loves.

Katy moved in to a new house. She has nice, old cookbooks. They’re a hoot!
I hope you’re imagining some captions, I KNOW I SURE DID.

so spooky

Halloween was a success!

Mononoke turned out mighty fine. Got to spend Friday night snuggling Mikar and pals and Saturday at the party of a couple of friends I adore and see far too infrequently. I'm not sure Josh was totally happy with the weekend but he never really complains so I can't be sure... speaking of JOSH his MOTHER sent us this totally cauuuuuuuuuuuute package with a Harry & David treat box, yum!

Absolutely spooky.

Wednesday Jess will FINALLY be making her appearance here. And that one thing I mentioned I'd have as a surprise last Friday will be going down for REAL this Friday instead. Things have been moving pretty slowly, I have been spending too much time daydreaming and eating good food and snuggling. Oh autumn! You really have arrived. I can't drive anywhere without orange leaves flying by. I finally got a space heater (FOR FREE BTW) to stave off the chill rolling in at night. Next on my list of things to fantasize about now that November is here is THANKSGIVING! Except the great thing about this is that it's a fantasy that is REAL, and in your mouth. Yum. Also hopeful for a OL Thanksgiving Raffle win- FINGERS CROSSED SO HARD THEY ARE ALMOST GLUED TOGETHER. The odds of winning this are REALLY good, REALLY REALLY good- because they only sell a limited number of tickets. Granted they are $10 each, I never let spending that money on a slip of paper bother me because it goes to fund super duper awesome things like Gilchrist State Forest and keeping State Parks nice and neat and allllll kinds of things relating to our public schools (67% of lottery profits go directly to Oregon's k-12 schools- who knew?! And some of that to universities). So cross your fingers for me and/or maybe get your butts out and purchase a ticket- they are selling 500,000- 2 people will win a million, 20 will win $20k, and 2000 will win $100. Good luck y'all!

other things

A couple of weeks in pictures, but only a few.

$2 Sundays

The idea is delish, but this was way too sweet. Peanut butter hot chocolate at Bare Bones, where the pulled pork sandwich is so good it made me cry

 Rat frenz

 AVD reality

Treasures from Roseburg. The start of something, maybe.

 Oh really, just the best!

I didn't see Joshua for a week, and then I did.
I really missed him.

I tried! Sigh. Josh is going to help me. A million ideas!

 Trying not to kill me

This is my Great Gma's wedding ring. They were really poor when they were first married- the rocks got bigger as the years went on. V & L is engraved on the inside, you can barely see it here. I wear it every day.

 House sitting means:

 Apple cinnamon walnut pancakes

Hashers and eggs straight from the butt

 AND TUNA!!!

 Printmastering

Can I say something about this man? I just really love him. When he was helping me with a project I said THANKS! You're making all my dreams come true! And he said, as nonchalant as ever, Good. That's what I'm here for.

Swoon.

He makes me feel like all the bad things that have ever happened in past relationships just don't matter. 'Cause they don't.
